Not the greatest book, but a good nostalgia piece. My LCS posted a picture of it on their Facebook story and I KNEW I had to pick it up!

Art
The art in this book isn’t fantastic, it’s ‘good enough’ but nothing mind blowing. There was one page I really enjoyed, and that was when the ‘serenity’ was revealed towards the end of the book. The characters are familiar, but kinda funny feeling. Kaylee is way too ‘pretty’ and doesn’t fit the sexy engineer vibe at all. But, this is an alternate story-line, so perhaps I’m judging it too harshly.

Story
I really love the Firefly nostalgia in this book, but the story was seriously lacking any real ‘substance’. They kinda re-introduced our favorite Firefly characters in different context, but there was no real ‘aha!’ moment, no deep story, nothing that blew my socks off. I feel like it could have been SO much more.
Overall I’m really hoping this turns into more than just a one-shot, and we get to see our favorite crew back in action. I guess we’ll just have to see what comes next!
